Privacy Policy

VidSeen is made by IndySoft, Inc. ("we", "us"). This policy describes what information VidSeen collects, why, and what we do with it. It covers the VidSeen apps for Mac and Windows, the VidSeen web app, share pages, and this website.

What we collect

Your account. VidSeen signs you in through Microsoft Entra External ID. If you sign in with a work account, your organization's Microsoft sign-in is used and we receive your name, email address, and account identifier so we can associate your recordings with you. We never see or store your password.

Your content. The screen recordings and screenshots you choose to upload are stored on our servers so we can host them and serve the share links you create. Recordings you make but do not upload never leave your computer. A local copy of every capture is also kept on your computer, under your control, in Movies/VidSeen on a Mac or Videos\VidSeen on Windows.

Transcripts and summaries. When a recording has speech, we generate a transcript with Azure AI Speech and a short written summary using the Anthropic API. These providers process the content only to provide that service to us, under terms that do not allow them to use your content to train their models.

Viewing activity. VidSeen exists to tell you whether a recording was watched. For people inside your organization who a recording is assigned to, we record when they first open it and whether they watched to the end. For share links sent to people outside your organization, we store the email address the sender entered for the recipient and the time the link was first opened.

This website. vidseen.com uses Azure Application Insights to count page views and understand which pages are read; it sets a small number of cookies for that purpose. If you use the contact form, we keep what you submit and it is emailed to us so we can reply.

That is it. The VidSeen apps do not collect analytics, location, contacts, or advertising identifiers, and none of our products use third-party advertising trackers.

How your content is shared

Every upload gets a unique, unguessable link. Anyone who has that link can view that recording or screenshot — that is the point of the product — so share links the way you would share the content itself. We do not publish, index, or list your content anywhere.

Where your data lives

Your content and account records are stored in Microsoft Azure data centers in the United States. Data is encrypted in transit and at rest.

What we do not do

We do not sell your data. We do not use your content or account information for advertising. We do not train AI models on your content. We access your content only to operate the service, to help you at your request, or as required by law.

Retention and deletion

Your uploads stay available until you delete them or ask us to remove them. To delete content or your account data, contact us and we will take care of it.

Children

VidSeen is a workplace tool and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

If this policy changes, we will update this page and the date above.
